New Life Update

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving. As I have spent some time reflecting back on this past year, it is obvious that God has blessed. I am thankful for you and your impact on my life. We have lived through some unexpected and at times unwelcome events, but God has continually proven His faithfulness.

I am reminded of the words from the apostle Paul found in Philippians 4:6, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

My thought for the day is to be “cool” when life heats up knowing that God is always in control. Don’t focus on the uncertainties of the day; rather focus on the character of God with a spirit of thanksgiving. This is not merely an impersonal suggestion; it is a truth that I have experienced in this process of starting a church downtown.

If possible, I am asking you to join me in specific prayer for several upcoming meetings regarding the church:
  • Thursday, November 30 at 2:30 pm we have a meeting with the owner of the Scarritt Building on 9th and Grand. Please pray for clear communication and a spirit of cooperation.
  • Monday, December 4, at 9:00 am we have a meeting with a hotel developer downtown who is “very” interested in the possibilities of working together on the church project.
  • Thursday, December 7, at 7:00 am we meet with a partner with a Real Estate company called “DRA” that works specifically with church development projects.

We also need to pray specifically for:
  • God’s direction in dividing church responsibilities between launch team members.
  • God’s perfect will in a person to lead the music for the church.
  • Wisdom for Nuance Marketing Group as they progress on our “Brand Identity” project.
  • The right people to join together in this church plant effort.
In closing, God has been working in lives of people. I have had some very positive meetings with people who are considering the opportunity to help out New Life Ministries. We are moving forward on the plan to start a men’s Bible study downtown. We are also pursuing the opportunities to start a foundation and receive our 501c3 status.

Thank you for your prayers.
